I was a die hard Chrome user, if anything because devs usually build for Chrome first, but following v3 enforcement it's no longer usable for me. I need to be able to use reliable ad blockers. So I switched to Firefox, it was easier than I thought to switch, hats off the Firefox team. However there was one thing that has been driving me nuts, the default new tab page for Chrome allowed for some shortcuts, it's a nice QoL feature I didn't realize how much I liked.

So I made a local HTML file that mimics the behavior and set it as my homepage. Thought I would share it here in case anyone else feels the same way.

GitHub - illsk1lls/QuickLaunchHome: Browser Homepage with Quicklaunch icons

You can switch which search provider is set above your shortcuts by clicking the gear at the top right, up to 40 shortcuts can be added.

(I know FireFox home can be configured pretty close to this, but I dont like the way it works, adding sites to the list as you browse unless you pin enough to fill a line up, this local HTML behaves more like Chrome, without displaying your history in the shortcuts)
