Anyone notice the name change of latest Windows 11 ISO?

In the past, the ISO has a version number on it.

But the latest one uses the following pattern now:

Yes.

The top one is 25H2 and the bottom one is 26H2, which has just been released, and shows the version number.


You can also easily upgrade 25H2 to 26H2 with the "Enablement Package" (takes 3 seconds and a reboot)
All the 26H2 things are already in 25H2... they just aren't enabled.

26300_9457 is more likely a build number instead of version number, IMOP

26300 is the Version (aka 26H2)

9457 is the Build

You can see that for yourself by mounting an ISO, and running the DISM command...

Assumes the mounted drive letter is E: and the ISO has an install.wim file (common on standard ISOs)

DISM /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:E:\Sources\install.wim /index:1

- or -

Assumes the mounted drive letter is E: and the ISO has an install.esd file (common on Media Creation Tool ISOs)

DISM /Get-ImageInfo /ImageFile:E:\sources\install.esd /index:1
