Solved Home version to 365 Family which generic product key to use?

Hi, First time here - been on seven forum long time.

I bought a new laptop which "only" came with home edition. But family matters require 365 Family.
Trying to upgrade my 365 Family key gave message that there was wrong letters et c in the key.

I found out, by searching the net, info on this forum about generic product keys. However the list doesn't explicitly tell me what key to use.
I understand that the generic key is only for the the upgrade itself not for activation.

So which generic key should I use?

Welcome to the forum. The generic keys I've seen referred to on this forum are Windows generic product keys. I've never heard of 365 ever using a generic key. 365 support is very good. I would contact them.
Sign in to Microsoft 365 admin center with your Microsoft 365 admin account, and select Support > Help and support, enter your question and select Contact support. If you're an admin on the account you can also call (800) 865-9408 (toll-free, US only).

Are you talking about Win 11 or Office 365?

Under Win 11 Home you can create as many users accounts you like, one for each family member.
If you subscribe Office 365 you can use it on all the other user accounts on the same computer.
