Hope someone can help with my system lagging

First off, thanks for any help. ALL of my drivers are up to date, win11 pro has all updates. I have been playing medianXL on and off for several years. I just started again, same system same specs but now while playing the game will, out of the blue, lag very badly, like the game is running 2 FPS. I exit game and even after, my system is lagging badly too. Menus take forever to open, start button take 3-4 second. My mouse moves just fine. I have to restart the system.

I have checked temps, changed Diablo II from directX to glide even downloaded another driver. Log files show nothing. I have lowered the FPS in Nivida control panel, nothing works.
I am good with computers but I cannot find a clue to how to fix this.

I hope someone can help, it bothers me my system doing this.

First off... here's ten points for filling out your computer specs.


If this problem only occurs on Median XL...
You will probably find more help for your Diablo II mod (Median XL), on their forums...

Or you might try the original DIablo II forum's mod section, here...


If this problem persists in other areas, even after a reboot, then we may be able to help.
I'd start by getting an accurate screenshot of your temperatures, with something like HWMonitor or HWInfo (both free).
Both programs show minimum, maximum and current temps.

I already tried that and few people said to try here and another forum.
As I said before same system specs everything, I have played this game, no problems till now.

Yes, I read that. But Median XL gets updates also. One of these updates could be causing the problem.

Another thing that we need to know is the exact build number of your Win 11 install.
You can type: winver ...in the Taskbar search box, to get that info.

OK here is a recording of HWmonitor of playing game. I ran into a bunch of mobs to really stress system and my Windows version.

I think I found the problem, The version I downloaded off of Blizzard, was an old version of Diablo II there was an update, I applied and will see if this was the problem.
