You can delete everything in OneDrive. That likely will clear up space. Make sure you save it all on a flash drive or hard drive. I have had Hotmail for 22 years. I did run into the "out of storage space". They let me know and let me know how I could expand it (for a fee). I deleted everything on OneDrive and haven't received a message since.
Oh, make sure your OneDrive isn't synchronized with the cloud to prevent this from happening in the future.
