This is all related to the same issue you reported in another lengthy thread you posted which was related to Onedrive. I believe the title was "missing files" That thread has since been deleted. I'm fairly positive I remember it from the last couple of days and I believe it was you. If not, please correct me..

You are going to be encountering all kinds of issues with your files until you deal with onedrive.

I suggest you start by right-clicking on a blank area of the folder & selecting Refresh.

Refreshing did not help.

what happens when you, or anyone, clicks/double clicks on a jpg?

When I double click on a .jpg it opens in Paint Shop Pro 7.04.
Because... I associated PSP 7.04 with all image types.

On a side note: I've never gotten a can't find the image, error. No matter what image editor I've used.

Go to settings > apps > default apps

It worked. Thank you very much ;-)

(I had been right clicking and 'open with' all this time)

It should still open, assuming you choose a program that can open an image file.
For example... you can't open an image file with something like Notepad.

Well, you can, but it won't look like an image. I just opened a .png file with Wordpad, and it looks like this...
