When I boot up my PC it boots up normally except that there's a delay in the start up of 2 programs that I want to start early in the boot up. How do I get them to start earlier at boot up?

Whilst you might play with a program like this, and you might even discover something...
(You might want an adblocker now this site's laden with them- hadn't used to be)

BootRacer is a Windows utility designed to measure and optimize system startup performance. The software monitors the time required for the operating system to reach a functional state and identifies which background processes contribute to boot delays. By providing a quantitative analysis of the boot sequence, the application empowers users to determine exactly how much time is consumed by specific startup programs.

The tool offers several management features to streamline system initiation. Users can selectively disable startup programs or delay their launch, ensuring essential services load first while non-critical software waits until the system is idle. This process is supported by a robust safety mechanism, offering up to 1,000 undo steps to revert any configuration changes and maintain system stability.

Key features of BootRacer include:

  • Performance Monitoring: Tracks total boot time and calculates potential time savings from disabling specific entries.
  • Startup Control: Enables, disables, or delays programs via a simplified interface.
  • Sequence Management: Provides control over the specific order in which applications initialize during the boot process.
  • Safe Reversion: Maintains a comprehensive history of changes, allowing for the immediate restoration of previous settings.
etc...

.... it's not an approach I'd generally recommend.

If you're determined to examine your boot sequence in detail there's the WPF (Windows Performance Analyser and Recorder ) - free from MS.
