How to Completely Remove Intel ProSet/Wireless

Normally, I keep my drivers updated via the Device Manager "update driver" method. However, this time, I opted to update via the *.exe from Intel. It looked like it was only installing the drivers and some documentation. However, after it installed, it didn't even install the right driver. I went to "uninstall it" and found 1) there is no App entry (their chipset and BT *.exe at least do this). I used DriverExplorer to remove the driver. I also saw where it made a folder in Program Files with the "documentation." I removed that too. However, just to check, I re-ran the Intel app to see if it gave me an "uninstall option." It shows a "repair" option meaning it installed itself somewhere else. Where else should I look? I even tried to re-install it using Revo (tracking)...and that didn't really work.

You mean it's not visible as an installed app under Programs in Control panel? You can also check in Program files (x86) and AppData - it's not visible by default.

That's correct...not visible under Programs/Apps in Settings or Control Panel. I tried manually removing the "folders" from Program Files but the installer still had a "Repair" option...indicating it found something else. There is nothing in Program Files (x86), AppData, or ProgramData folders. Registry entry?

Well on my system, oem1.inf is for my sound drivers.

Hi...I don't necessarily want to remove the driver...I want to remove whatever software or other items Intel decided to copy over in addition to the driver.

You are funny have you think about i have no idea what drive file OP needs to replace oem1.inf with Intel driver name.

I know that, but the OP may not, and you did not say that in your post. It literally says remove oem1.inf.

I didn't have to any person will notice that the listed drivers are many and with different hardware driver name changes.

To OP. You can download "revo uninstaller" and remove it with that.

I don't know why Intel doesn't list in in programs and features to uninstall. They do with their bluetooth drivers. Strange.

Or you could just leave it. There is no harm and it doesn't take much disk space.

Just a thought.... (This is not an add, but an experience with......)
Concerning updating drivers. Can be tricky sometimes. Can produce unwanted results if you installed the wrong one. Luckily I bought IOBit's Driver Booster Pro. It starts. Click on Scan and it will come up with an update of certain drivers if there a new ones. Installs it and done. No more manually downloading and installing drivers. Their Database behind it is quite extensive. It can update every device now on the market, including Intel drivers. It even sees if there is a new update of NVIDIA drivers. I have to inspect my NVIDIA tray icon for that which i don't watch on a daily basis. Running Driver Booster Pro does see it as well. There are some driver update programs available. Used one that messed up my system good. (installing wrong stuff) Never have seen that with Driver Booster Pro. I find it more reliable than some other programs.
