How to disable Slide to Shutdown in Windows 11?

Who the heck put this stupid feature in Windows 11? Sometimes when I am connected to my external monitor (I have my display to only show on the external monitor) if I wake up the laptop from sleep, the external monitor doesn't get signal so I press the power button on my laptop which I have configured to Shutdown but it does nothing, apparently it is giving me he drop down to slide to shut down.

I followed this guide by applying the reg tweak then restarting but it still does the same thing: Enable or Disable Screen Edge Swipe in Windows 11 Tutorial

PS: Running Windows 11 Home for now so no Group Policy rules but I can upgrade if needed, I just want to figure this out without the group policy

I know if I delete this file it will solve the problem but I was hoping there was a better way to achieve this: slidetoshutdown.exe

A Repair install should overwrite SlideToShutDown.exe with a new copy.
Or you could browse an older system image and copy SlideToShutDown.exe then boot from, e.g.a an installation disk & use its Cmd prompt to copy that back into the folder.

tried that, didn't work, not sure if it was some tweak I did that caused this. I just formatted my laptop and now pressing the power button just shuts it down without that slide to shutdown prompt.

Edit: Now that I think of this issue, do you think the tweak to disable the lock screen has anything to do with why I was facing this? @Brink

Are you pressing and holding it in til it turns off? Or is it a simple one click press? Towers are different ofc. But i need to hold it down til it turns off if i do it that way, fyi not how i shut down my pc btw, Just if i had to, If i press it once nothing happens

When I press the button, nothing happens, after a second or two, I get the notification to slide down from the top to bottom to shut down. Now after I formatted it is fine so I am trying to figure what tweak might have caused this. The only thing that I think might be related is the disable lock screen tweak I did so I don't see the lock screen after I have left the computer for a while and just have it go to the desktop immediately but I am not sure

Ahh i get you now man, Glad its sorted ultimately but it would be good to know, Im pretty sure its safe-ish to assume it was that though.

Sounds to me like the laptop is stuck in tablet mode which is tied to whether a keyboard is present or not. Try another keyboard to see if it issue persists, preferably a wired one to test..
