Click on the Start Menu and start to type "recycle" (without the quotes). When you get to recy the Recycle Bin icon will be shown to the right. Click on the icon and your discarded stuff will appear.

I haven't tried removing the recycle bin icon from my desktop . . . not sure what will happen if I do, but most likely it will just disappear. Not sure how I would get it back if I actually needed it. :eek1:

I know that there are places I can put the "recycling Bin" for example I can place it in "Quick Access" or I can even "Pin to start". But I would like to use the main desktop area as a place to store a few of the main sites I go to as "Google Chrome made Apps" example I would like to make the forum elevenforum and tenforum a chrome shortcut "App" on my main screen. And turn the icon into the word (10) and (11) with the windows icon behind it. Or just copy the favicons from each of the forums and use them as the App Icons for the shortcuts. And then have maybe a 12 or so shortcuts also known as "Chrome Apps" or that is what I call them since I make them with chrome. I would like to use the (2) forums and then maybe a few random sites. But for now I'm still tinkering with the bookmarks deciding on what sites I want to use.

So I was just wondering if there was a way to hide only the "Recycling Bin" and not all icons.

How to hide windows 11 recycling bin and still be able to use it when I need to. I don't want to hide all icons I just want to hide recycling bin and still be able to use it if possible.

To control whether it's shown or not, go to Settings->Personalization->Themes->Desktop icon settings. You can add it to Quick Access in File Explorer to keep it close by.

Click on the Start Menu and start to type "recycle" (without the quotes). When you get to recy the Recycle Bin icon will be shown to the right. Click on the icon and your discarded stuff will appear.

I remove all icons from the desktop, because I use maximized windows, icons tend to get lost in my ever-changing desktop wallpaper anyway, and they obscure the wallpaper when I do see it. There are much better ways than the desktop to organize shortcuts for launching and documents for temporary storage.

The only icon I allow on my desktop is the Recycle Bin, and I move it to the bottom right of my desktop so it's not very noticeable. After all, why have themes on my desktop if I'm just gonna cover 'em up with a buncha ugly icons. I keep most of what I use daily on my taskbar.

Follow this pic. Uncheck it. Now if you need to delete something, right-click and delete it. To empty the Recycle bin. Windows Key + R Type shell:desktop Right-click Recycle bin and empty it. No more Recycle bin on the desktop and still functional.

I am tinkering with the icons still. I have a really pretty "Japanese Themed Wallpaper" and I do like to change the wallpaper from time to time. So I plan to add the bookmarked shortcuts to my desktop and then change the icons and then move the apps to a folder inside "Desktop" and then hide all Icons and try and keep the theme of the icons with the "Japanese Waterfalls" or "Japanese Water Gardens" this way all the icons kind of go with the theme. Its like having a "Chevy Camero Wallpaper" and then having "Engine Parts" as the icons and having "Start up sound as "Engine Starting". I used to love the "Dragon Ball z - Themes" with the moving wallpapers and the sounds of the ship and vegeta it was so cool. So I'm trying to find something that would look good even if I did pin the apps to the taskbar I didn't want a lot of messy icons this way I could clean it up a bit.

I don't plan to keep the icons on the wallpaper I just plan to set it up on the wallpaper to see how to icons blend with the wallpaper but currently I'm working on the "Shortcuts From Chrome bookmarks" so I have not really decided on what I want for the "Recycling Bin" yet. I have found (2) "Recycling Bins" I like one is of a bowl of "Ramen full and empty" and one is of "Rice With Chopsticks - same bowl without rice". So I'm still tinkering I was just wondering if it was possible or not that's all. I think I will leave it alone and just hide all icons and then work oin the "Desktop" folder area.
