How to make Edge to always run in Windows 8 compatibility mode?

After changing its properties in the shortcut to run in Win8 compat mode, it initially starts as intended, but after a while the properties become default and the compatibility mode removed. I think, it is done by some service. How can I stop this?

Best option is probably to swap to another Browser, Microsoft has a bad habit of updating and resetting Edge at regular intervals :ffs:
