Windows 11 version 21H2 (OS Build 22000.469)
I had a brain fart the other day and re-enrolled in the Insider Preview program, even though my intention was to download an .ISO and install on a VMware virtual machine, which I did.

I forgot about re-enrolling in the Insider Preview program and today when I went to check for Windows updates I now see:

I assume that on my next reboot that my Win10 configuration will be replaced with Win11. Is there any way to abort the Win11 installation at this point?

You can delete the downloaded files that are necessary for the update. There are useful files on Tenforums that can help:

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

this will reset and reregister windows update.

You can make sure you are safe by going to C;\windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ and deleting all the files there, and then restarting. Also unregister for Windows insider program, if unsure. Search Tenforums for UUPDump tutorial by Kari to download Windows Insider update ISOs without being enrolled in the Insider Program.

Thanks. I did as much manual deleting as I could before I crossed my fingers & rebooted, and it worked. I had already un-enrolled in the Insider Program as soon as I realized what I had done by enrolling. After rebooting, I thought of the disk cleanup utility in File Explorer and it removed all the remaining bits of the update/upgrade that were left.

Thanks. UUP was a little glitchy a few nights ago when I was looking for the .ISO, so I downloaded it from one of the Android sites.

Apparently, UUP is a little glitchy tonight as well.
