Solved How to see ALL programs in the start menu "all" section

There are programs that are not included when you click the "All" button at the top of the start menu. For example: I want to add Control Panel to the start menu. I'm not even sure how I found it. I saved it to the Task Bar but would like it in the "pinned" section of the start menu. For that you have to show it in the Start Menu to pin it to the "Pinned" section.

You can pin the Control Panel to Start Menu search for Control Panel from Start Menu search box and right-click the Control Panel icon from search result to see the context menu option "Pin to Start Menu".

"The Start menu contains shortcuts of all your apps" No it doesn't. It does not show the Control Panel anywhere in the "All" section of the start menu. I can't remember where I found it but it didn't have a way to add it to the Start Menu.

Yep, that's why you can manually add Control Panel to the "All" list or "Pin to Start" using an option I posted above if wanted.

As far as I can recall Win7 was the last to have Control Panel in the Start menu.

for just your start menu, put any shortcuts you want in:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

for all users' start menus, put any shortcuts you want in:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Found this to be the easiest way for me. Just found it this morning.

Create a Desktop Shortcut: Right-click on the desktop, select "New" > "Shortcut", and enter "control" in the location field. I'm marking this thread Closed

Programs that you see in "All" menu are the programs whose shortcuts reside in the "usual" Windows start menu folders in the file system. It is combination of global menu folders stored under

C:\ProgramData\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

and your user-specific menu folders stored under

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

So, if you want a program to appear in "All" menu, you need to create a shortcut for it under any of these locations (depending on your intent).

You want to see Control Panel there? Make Windows Create a desktop shortcut for Control Panel and then use it as a source to "copy" a shortcut to one of the above menu locations. After that Control Panel will appear in "All" menu.
