If you have your resolution at default(it's native resolution), there should be no noticeable difference in power drain when changing scale.
However,
if you have increased your resolution and also increased scale, it requires more pixels which requires more processing power from the GPU to render the extra pixels. That be the case, the only way to help you get more out of you battery using these settings would be to change other settings which might not be optimal depending on how you use your laptop because these changes can affect those tasks drastically, especially if you are a gamer.
The following are the biggest battery power hogs.
Reduce brightness and refresh rate
Turn off overclocking
Don't do high intensive tasks while on battery. Gaming is one such task.
Use whatever power saving power plan the OEM included with your device(If none included use the power saver plan included with Window)
Disconnect all other external peripherals that are pulling power when the laptop is on battery.
Turn off keyboard backlighting, and ensuring the laptop has good ventilation.
Close unnecessary applications or tabs
Shorten sleep/screen off time
I never thought I would ever see anything on Reddit that was beneficial, but several years ago found a VERY extended list tweaks regarding battery drain that took tweaking to the extreme.
I would do the things I listed above, but don't think I would go as far as he did.
Use his other suggestions at your own risk. I'm including it here only for reference as to what drags battery power down.
