HTPC loses Network Connection when TV is Switched Off

Hello all

I have a HTPC with a 'ROG STRIX B760-I GAMING WIFI' Motherboard, an Intel i7 12700K and 64GB Ram.

I use the Embedded Graphics, Intel UHD 770.

The HTPC is connected, via HDMI, to a Marantz NR1609 AVR and then onto an LG 49SK8500PLA TV.

I run Plex Server and Plex HTPC on the HTPC.

This is where it gets strange.

When the TV, or AVR, is Switched Off, the Network Adapter (Intel i226-v) seems to lose its Connection causing issues for Plex.

Power Management is Disabled on the Nic.

Has anyone ever seen this Issue before?

Welcome to the Forum.

This thought is a long shot but here goes:
There is an HDMI protocol used in the home theater industry known as CEC (Consumer Electronic Control). This allows one device to turn ON or OFF all other peripherals in an entertainment setup via signals transmitted through the HDMI interface. This property may explain why when you turn off either your TV or your AVR, the HTPC also is shut down and loses network connectivity. (Or at least its NIC card loses network connection)

Here are a couple of ideas to test-
1.) See if there are any settings on your TV or AVR that specifically call out the CEC power control. Toggle them off and see what the HTPC does then
2.) On the HTPC, set the NIC card configuration to Disable the ability for the network interface to be powered off by Windows (See Control Panel-->Network and Internet-->Network Connections-->Properties-->Advanced-->Power Management

Thanks for the Reply, it is appreciated.

Unfortunately, CEC is already Disabled on the TV and the AVR as I Hate it :)

Power Management on the Nic is also Disabled.

It is a weird Issue, one that I have not come across before and I have been using I.T for over 40 Years.

I actually received a Reply from Asus Technical Support and one of their 'Suggestions' was to plug the PC into another Wall Socket :)
