Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a key to upgrade my laptop omen 17 from home to pro but i could not at all and i got this message
Laptop specs:
I7 11800h
RTX 3070
32 gb ram
1.5 nvme

HI DBZLover I have not encountered this problem myself but if i had it i would try to reset it (after backing up any data) or seeing if there is any upgrades, looking at the screenshot there seems to be a problem with your copy of windows because it says "buy a genuine copy" it is probably for the best if you would try to get in contact with microsoft support

My win11 home is already activated, i just don't know why the key will not work and i've bought 2 from different places and this is not the first time i did this

It appears that the license key you are trying to enter is not valid; "go to the store to buy genuine Windows." If you purchased the upgrade key from a reputable source, contact them. If you purchased a discount key it may fail for various reasons; visit link below for some of the reasons.

Download Windows 11 Pro from below link and mount ISO double-click Setup.exe from installation screen, select Upgrade.

One thing that has changed from the Product Key of earlier versions of Windows is the downloads, .iso or USB, are both Home and Pro, the license determines which edition is activated. Using the MCT there is no choice of Home or Pro, just one download and the license/key determines which gets activated. Downloading latest available now, I keep the latest on hand as it can save me time later on when working with clients.

I haven't purchased any keys for Win10 or Win11, was able to upgrade computers from Win7 and Win8/8.1 to Win10 when still possible. I even have 2 Notebooks I upgraded from 10 to 11 using the single-file change and they are activated. I did buy a new Win11 Notebook and later a new Win11 Desktop 2 years ago as what I had didn't meet the specs., both came with Win10 Pro and immediately got upgraded to Win11 after finishing setup. As for Win10, last month I upgrade a Win8.1 Notebook I was given to Win10, no issue yet.
