Solved I cant use snipping tool or print screen

It showing this in event viewer could i be a result of permission issue if so any fix.

You may have already done these, but we don't know.

1. Uninstall, and install again from the MS Store.
2. Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Snipping tool > 3dots > Advanced options > Repair or Reset or Uninstall.

Seems to be an old version ? maybe just update in the MS Store.

yes i tried that no luck also did sfc scannow and the dism command

You can try 2 things. Create another user account to test with or temporarily enable the hidden administrator account. If it works in a different account, it points to corruption within your user account.

OR you can try the Windows 10 snipping tool to see if it will work in your account. Old snipping tool

If no luck then try a 3rd party app. I use PicPick. It is easy to use and it's free.

That Snipping tool has turned out to be someones BAD idea. If you read the forums very much, you'll find many complaints about that program.

But you don't need no errant Snipping tool to do screen shots. If you have it, delete it!

When you're looking at a screen that you want to save, just press the "Print Screen" key, usually on the upper right side of your keyboard.
That will copy the entire screen, minus the mouse cursor, to your Windows Clip Board. From there you can paste that screen image into any photo editor program that you desire. Personally, I've never liked MS Paint. Too infantile for my liking.
For over a decade, I've used an old Freeware program, from France, called "Photo Filtre". I call it my Poor Man's Photo Shop.
I have it on my Utilities disk and install it every time I install Windows. And, I always Pin it to my Taskbar, for One Click access.
Someone recently asked how to add Text to a picture, and I do that almost every day with Photo Filtre.

sorry i should have mentioned print screen does not work either .

Have you tried this?

Clear Clipboard Cache:

Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
Go to System > Clipboard.
Under Clear clipboard data, click on Clear.

Is the Print Screen key enabled? I have mine disabled on purpose because I don't want to use the Snipping Tool.
However, I have use a free program called Greenshot that does use the Print Screen key for screen capture.

hi MisterEd yes it is enabled still nothing may just use faststone capture just dont understand what is causing the error messaga any time i try to print screen or snipping tool it opens but if i select new it closes

Have you considered doing a clean installation of Windows 11?

Sometimes, it just doesn't pay to futz around endlessly with troubleshooting.
