System Identify Displays in Windows 11

When you have multiple displays connected in Windows 11, you may need help to identify the displays to see which number corresponds to a display.

A number appears on the screen of the display it's assigned to.

Option One

Identify Displays in Settings


1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on System on the left side, and click/tap on Display on the right side. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on the Identify button. (see screenshot below)

Option Two

Identify Displays in NVIDIA Control Panel


This option will only be available if your PC has NVIDIA graphics with NVIDIA drivers installed.


1 Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.

2 Click/tap on any Display setting link in the left pane of NVIDIA Control Panel. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on Display on the menu bar.

4 Click/tap on Identify displays to check (show) or uncheck (stop showing) it for ID numbers on the displays.

Option Three

Identify Displays in Intel Graphics Command Center


This option is only available if you have Intel graphics and drivers installed.


1 Open the Intel Graphics Command Center.

2 Click/tap on any Display in the left pane of Intel Graphics Command Center. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on the Identify button.
