I have an Omen 25i Monitor currently on 60 Hz refresh rate. It's supposed to get up to 165 Hz. I changed in Windows Settings to 164.92 Hz and the screen just goes black. My current resolution is 1920*1080 and my graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super with Driver 528.24. I also downloaded from the HP website the Firmware 1.0.2.0 Rev.A How can I fix this?

It should work.

How is the monitor connected to the graphics card?

If it's using an HDMI cable, perhaps using a certified premium one would help.

Does it seem to freeze solid? That's a known Windows 11 issue, especially with 21H2, where it freezes with black/blank screen as soon as you raise the refresh-rate. It's only known to happen randomly and you can reboot and repeat the procedure and then it's like nothing happened.

What cable do you have? You need at least HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2

I’m using a DisplayPort Cable.

It goes black then seems to flicker between sources looking for a signal.

I was able to put it on 143.98 Hz and it was fine I also put the response rate all the way up to fastest.

I would still like to get the monitor to use 165Hz. Also since changing it to 144Hz the monitor will randomly dim even though I’m actively using it. So it’s not from being idle.

Any clue why it would randomly dim? It’s done it twice and only since changing it to 144Hz
