My bank is a credit union, I've been a member for almost 40 years, but it's about 1 hour from my house now. But they have been great and I have no reason to switch.

I'm like you. I only use one credit card for everything. I track it daily. My debit card is reserved for cash withdrawals only, and that's rare.

This is exactly what I do, and I can transfer money to the online account when needed instantly, takes me about 5 minutes.

I'm with you. Phones, in my view, are inherently insecure and I wouldn't let banking on one.
That said, we are forced to maintain our accounts on-line but basically keep all the accounting on an air-gapped laptop and pay most bills by good old-fashioned check. CC companies spend millions on their algorithms and are perhaps more zealous with those transactions than I could ever be, and on the rare occasion when my numbers have been skimmed, they have cancelled purchases in the blink of an eye.

A safer DNS provides a partial protection, it can prevent downloading the malware and also it's ability to connect to C&C.

Not to mention that it relies on WSH (used by virtually all malware), but it can be easily disabled, MS is deprecating it anyway.

I have 4 different bank accounts, each for a different purpose, before you ask, there are zero fees.
Revolut for example allows you to use a single-use virtual card, great for using on a random eshop.
I prefer virtual cards, but my other bank allows me to restrict the card as much as possible, it is great.

I agree with John. Not having internet banking and a banking app on your PC/Phone/Watch is a recipe for tragedy these days.
As much as I don’t like the idea of ca$h being set for redundancy, imagine getting compromised and not learning about it until you either go back into a bank to do some banking (If you can find a bank) or until you get a statement, which these days, in Australia at least, are every few months or once a month.

It’s too late then. We have certain protections in Australia, if you’re quick enough, the bank will give you your money back then take on the responsibility of retrieving it themselves.
