I am assuming that I would image the present SSD C: drive and restore it to the NVMe drive? Then change boot order? Is it that simple?? TX

By "c drive" do you mean your current os partition?

If you want to do image and restore, you would need to include all the partitions required by the os. Most imaging programs have something like "system backup" or "system image" which automatically include everything that is needed.

I hope you are lucky with that, I spent a couple of weeks trying to do just that and finally managed a clean install from an ISO directly to the NVMe drive after three attempts. The SSD was not reformatted until I was absolutely sure that the NVMe drive was running stably as C drive.

Tx, yes I understand, I might not have been clear in the initial post. I used the C: drive meaning all the partitions etc. [Macrium] B/U.

Tinmar49 hoping I will have better luck. Many images for B/U before I install it. Presently, taking longer than I expected is cable management. Using twisties in the interim then tie wraps.

What about cloning the SSD to the NVMe drive with 3rd party software? I generally switch to Samsung drives and use their Data Migration software. Works great.

I had started with an M2 NVMe drive on W10, upgraded to W11 via the insider program and then cloned the M2 to a 2.5 SSD. Later, I decided to revert to the M2, but cloning it with Macrium Reflect and also with Mini Tool Partition Wizard resulted in failure. I tried with secure boot ,TPM and bit locker enabled and disabled in every possible combination without success. I eventually got an ISO to work on the third attempt. The strange thing was that the M2 showed up as a bad disk in another pc that I tried to use it in, even though it showed as normal in device manager.
