This tutorial will show you how to install and uninstall third-party Game Bar widgets for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
You can open the Game Bar to take control of all your favorite gaming activities while playing on your Windows 11 device.
The Controller Bar is a view of the Game Bar that allows you to quickly access games and apps using any Xbox controller.
The Home Bar is the bar at the top of the Game Bar screen. Your favorites will appear on the Home Bar for quicker access to widgets. Open widgets will show underlined on the Home Bar.
Xbox Game Bar includes a Widget Store that allows you to discover, install and remove widget applications. Each widget application can contain 1 or more widgets, as well as optional desktop applications.
When you install a Xbox Game Bar widget from the Widget Store, the widget will show on the Widget Menu by default to open it from.
Default widgets included with Xbox Game Bar that cannot be uninstalled:
- Audio – Get the perfect mix by adjusting the sound levels of your game, chat, and background apps.
- Capture – Record a clip or take a screenshot when something awesome happens.
- From the developer – Stay in the know from the creators of your favorite games.
- Gallery – Your game clips and screenshots will show up here.
- Looking for Group – Use Looking for Group to find players for your favorite multiplayer games.
- Performance – Track your game’s frames-per-second (FPS) and other real-time stats.
- Resources – See what apps and processes are using system resources to help you optimize gaming performance.
- Spotify – Link your Spotify account to rock your games with your favorite songs. For more info, see:
- Xbox Achievements – Track your games’ progress and see what you’ve unlocked.
- Xbox Social – Start a text or voice chat, one on one or in a group. Connect with friends or make new ones and join a friend’s PC game or invite them to join yours.

1 Open the Game Bar (Win+G).
2 Click/tap on the Widget Menu button on the Home Bar, and click/tap on Widget Store. (see screenshot below)
3 In the Widget Store "BROWSE" section, click/tap on the widget you want to install. (see screenshot below)
4 Click/tap on Install. (see screenshot below)
5 When the widget has finished installing, you can close (X) the Widget Store. (see screenshot below)
1 Open the Game Bar (Win+G).
2 Click/tap on the Widget Menu button on the Home Bar, and click/tap on Widget Store. (see screenshot below)
3 Perform the following steps in the Widget Store: (see screenshot below)
- Click/tap on the INSTALLED tab.
- Under "ALL INSTALLED", click tap on the More options (3 dots) button for the widget you want to uninstall.
- Click/tap on Uninstall.
4 Click/tap on YES, I'M SURE to confirm. (see screenshot below)
5 When the widget has finished uninstalling, you can close (X) the Widget Store. (see screenshot below)
1 Open Settings (Win+I).
2 Click/tap on Apps on the left side, and click/tap on Installed apps on the right side. (see screenshot below)
3 Click/tap on the More options (3 dots) button for the Game Bar app/widget you want to uninstall, and click/tap on Uninstall. (see screenshot below)
4 Click/tap on Uninstall to confirm. (see screenshot below)
5 When finished, you can close Settings if you like.
