Installed UPDATE KB5034848: Simple Tab Groups and bookmarks disappeared

Hi all. Yesterday I installed Windows Update KB5034848 and after rebooting, all my Firefox Simple Tab groups had disappeared. I'm a teacher, there were hundreds of tabs and bookmarks. After a long process I went into history and was able to restore to the previous day. I deleted the update, but I rebooted this morning and the update had been automatically reinstalled. About half the tabs and bookmarks I'd restored had disappeared again. Went into history again, restored them, reorganized them. I'm fearful of having to go through this every morning.

I'm using Windows 11, version 23H2, OS build 22631.3235. I'm on an HP Spectre 360 laptop. Any help much appreciated.

Have you thoroughly gone through the settings in Firefox to see if anything changed that may be contributing to your problem? Because I can’t imagine how the Windows Update would have any affect on Firefox. I’m not saying it didn’t though.

If possible uninstall this update and hide it until MS finds a "cure" for this terrible update.
Some were lucky enough to not have any problems but, Lots of net goers are reporting all
kinds of problems with this update and the KB5034765. I just come back from a thread
that this member had lost his task bar and whatever we tried didn't work until we uninstalled
this update and the KB5034765,now, his PC is working as it should.
Uninstall the update and try to hide it using this tool: You could also Pause the updates for a bit
to make sure they don't install automatically.

Weird. I am running fine after this update on PC and laptop. What a terrible inconvenience for some.
Although I am still not sure how the update could affect Firefox. Windows yes.

Well, I don't know if or how it would affect Firefox but, since the last Firefox update I have
been experiencing weird pages on this forum. Some info is missing and on other pages there
are blank spots where info should be there. I haven't done anything about it yet but , reported
it on Firefox logs. Maybe the KB5034765 is also having an effect after the Firefox update. I did
not install KB5034848 and have paused my updates until the end of this month. I will see how
it goes and will report back if anything changes in a thread that I will start for that purpose.

Missing Windows 11 Toolbar after Windows update.

Opened Win 11 this morning and there was an update to windows, which I downloaded and started the installation. This lasted so long, I rebooted the PC (held button down 4 seconds) and when it re-loaded, the Windows Toolbar was missing. Have used SFC, DISM, DSKCHK to see if there are any problems...

Thanks everybody for you suggestions and support. There have been no changes to Firefox that I'm aware of, no firefox updates before this started. I uninstalled KB5035858 and was able to restore my tabs. Then it automatically reinstalled and the tabs disappeared again. I've uninstalled it again and toggled off "get the latest updates" in hopes of discouraging further reinstalling and paused updates for one week.

You may have to wait with updates until patch Tuesday next month? (First Tuesday) Unless they offer a hotfix. Im not 100% sure how it works with update patches.

I started getting KB5034848 update on 3/2/2024 on my 5 Win11 [2 Pro 3 Home] machines and no problems seen, also have Firefox 123.0.1 without issues. I've also had no problem on 2 Notebooks from 2014 running the unsupported upgrade from Win10 to Win11, one Home and one Pro that have even gotten last 2 Patch Tuesday [second Tuesday] updates.

If I was the OP, I’d roll back out of interest.
