Is anyone interested in seeing a write-up on how to add your system drivers to a Windows 11 ISO image?

@FreeBooter, thanks for quick response.
Which drivers are to be added to iso 26100.1591.240820-2119.GE_RELEASE_SVC_PROD3_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US downloded from uupdump.net to display hardware as seen in message?
Is this message with reference to an unsupported hardware?
Or download error causing missing drivers from uupdump.net?

Hello,
1. I prepared bootable usb using Wim Tools v 23.0.0.261, after having installed Windows 10 ADK and ADKWinPE addons full. I used Windows 10 Pro.
2. Downloded Windows 11 iso using media creatition tool from Microsoft official website. Iso has install.wim
3. Placed Windows 11 iso configuring to boot as first image iso.
4 After booting it displays dialog box "Install driver to display hardware" The image attached herewith.The message seems to be from Microsoft stating to install the driver to make you hardware disoverable.Same message on dell inspiron laptop when booted from this drive.
5. I have dvd writer in my desktop pc from which bootable dual layer dvd of Windows 11 boots well without any error.
6. Finally how to proceed next?
Thanks for any suggestion.
Ramesh, the screenshot that you are showing is part of the new Windows 11 24H2 setup. I know that you said that this is Windows 10, but is it possible that you accidentally got some Win 11 24H2 components mixed in somewhere?

BTW, that behavior is currently something I get with any 24H2 media. That is something I can not sort out until final release of 24H2.

Hello @hsehestedt, glad to read your suggestion.
I prepared Wim Tools bootable usb of your newly launched software in Windows 10 which has full installation of ADK.
I prepared it on usb 2.0.
Should I prepare it on Windows 11 with full ADK installled?

26100.1591.240820-2119 is 24H2.

If you're updating W11 images, it's best to use the proper W11 ADK instead of W10 ADK versions. While the ADK tools themselves are not dependent on the OS version, the bundled EFI boot files are updated.
Download and install the Windows ADK

Thank you @garlin.
I have to download Windows ADK May 2024 version for Windows 11.
This can boot Windows 11 v24 H2 iso correctly from Wim Tools v 23.0.0.261 by @hsehestedt.
I want to add that Windows 11 v 23H2 captured size approximately 70 Gb is booting correctly from the same usb.

@hsehestedt,
Windows 1124 H2 iso downloaded from uupdump.net.(26100.1591.240820-2119.GE_RELEASE_SVC_PROD3_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US)
I removed it now from usb.
15 gb iso of Windows 11 v23 H2 after clicking install, states that no install. wim found. I had prepared bootable usb by media creation tool from Microsoft website. Obviously it has install.esd.
I used iso having install. esd and install. wim, captured.
Though it is install.wim to boot first, I am removing install esd and saving the image by Anyburn keeping install.wim only.(captured )
When I run config.ufd as administrator from windows, it asks for more space on UFD volume 2.
I have given 2.5 gb space on UFD volume 1.So which space to increase?
Whether vol 1 or vol 2?
I had created on 32 GB generic usb flash drive, LAPCARE.
Am I suggested to use 256/512 gb external usb?
I apologize for some changes. usb is 32 gb and iso is 15 gb in size.
Anyburn finished the work of editing and saving the image with install.wim (captured size approx 15 gb).
After booting, it shows first screen, but after clicking install it shows the message as in image attached herewith.
I have to prepare a new Wim Tools bootable usb on Windows 11 v23H2 with ADK installtion full. And then I will post the update about installation of Windows 11v 23H2 from this usb drive.
Thanks everyone.

Update
Hello everyone,
1. I installed Windows 11 Kits ADK and ADKWinPEAddons(May 2024) from link Download and install the Windows ADK in Windows 11 Pro v23H2.
2. Run Wim Tools v 23.0.0.261 by @hsehestedt as an administrator to prepare bootable usb (32 GB) creating two partitions by default.
3. Placed iso 26100.1591.240820-2119.GE_RELEASE_SVC_PROD3_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US in folder Iso Images in partition 2.
4. Run Config_UFD.bat to set this iso as first image to boot.
5. Then as usual got the message "This pc can not run Windows 11 as it does not meet requirements".
6. Press Shift+F10 to bring command prompt.
7. Run Notepad and then select the bypass 11.reg to merge.
8. The registry file has following lines:-

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHC]
"UpgradeEligibility"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
"AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001

"BypassTPMCheck"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BitLocker]
"PreventDeviceEncryption"=dword:00000001

9. Click back and then again select install. The installation of Windows 11 Pro v24H2 starts with no error.
10 . I have attached the file herewith named "bypass 11".
Thanks for reading.
Special thanks to @garlin and @hsehestedt.

Hello @garlin,
You are correct.

With reference to post#15 by @hsehestedt,
UPGRADE INSTALLATION PROCEDURES *
***********************************

********************************************
* Method 1 - Updating the Windows Registry *
* PREFERRED METHOD *
********************************************

You can bypass the Windows 11 requirements for an upgrade installation by adding the entries below to your Windows registry.

You can make this into a .REG file if you wish. Then, simply double-click that file to merge the contents into the registry. If you want to do this, open notepad, paste in the following lines between the "----" lines (not including those lines), and save it to a file with a .REG extension, then double-click that file to make the registry change:

----
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHC]
"UpgradeEligibility"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
"AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig]
"BypassRAMCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassSecureBootCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassTPMCheck"=dword:00000001
----

NOTE: It is my understanding that the "BypassDiskCheck" and "BypassStorageCheck" no longer do anything, but it won't hurt anything to keep those entries. If you prefer, you can omit those two lines.

I have added last entry to turn off bitlocker encryption.
Thanks for special advise.
I thought first line PCHC bypasses pc requirements check for Windows 11 v24H2 on unsupported pc.

Those are fake reg keys, they never existed. But the Internet keeps repeating them everywhere, even on GitHub.

Do they break Setup? No.

Ramesh,

If I understand your question correctly, performing menu options 12, 2, and finally 3 will simply apply the drivers for the system to your Windows image. A couple of things to be aware of:

1) Menu item #3 is only for boot critical drivers. There is no need to apply all exported drivers in this step.

2) Note that for both the main system drivers and the boot-critical drivers, you can add drivers for multiple systems. Here is how I do this:

- Export the drivers from all systems whose drivers you wish to include.
- Copy ALL drivers from ALL systems into one folder. If any drivers are duplicated, you can skip the duplicate driver folders.
- Use the combined folder with all the drivers when you inject these into the image.

As an example, I have a Windows image that includes the drivers for approximately a dozen or so systems. I can use that same Windows image to install onto any one of those systems. After installation, I just do a quick run of RAPE (Driver Store Explorer) to delete unused drivers.

Does this help?

I'm trying to inject the touchpad driver into the Macrium Reflect ISO using the latest Wim-Tools. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, no. It's expecting the WinPE image (boot.wim) to be a part of a part of a Windows image.

But you make a really good point - I have to give some thought into whether I want to start a sprawl of the program to start handling WinPE and WinRE images. I already am for those routine that can make multi-boot media. For example, I use it to make a bootable disk somewhat like Ventoy that includes the option of multiple Windows editions and boot media or rescue media for Macrium Reflect, Veritas System Recovery, and LSoft Active Disk Image.

For now you would just need to do it manually with the commands that I provided earlier.

Let me know if you think that would be useful. It should be pretty easy to add that capability, I just have to take some time and actually do it :-)

I had a nice discussion with ChatGpt and he added all his advice to a zip file, on request! If I had told him where the drivers were and the various paths to the wim etc, he would have customised these instructions just for me.
