Lately, every time I turn on my PC without Wi-Fi, it always shows widgets and the Wi-Fi or Ethernet icon. If I want to access the lock screen, I have to use (Ctrl + Alt + Delete). Before, if there was no Wi-Fi, it would just say "No Wi-Fi" and wouldn’t show widgets. How can I make it go back to how it was before? This seems strange. Thank you for your help. IMG_0202.webp

Thanks for your reply. Your answer is not entirely accurate. Normally, if there is no Wi-Fi, there would be no widgets, but in this case, it’s different. I also have a problem with the lock screen.

I don’t want to disable the widgets; my concern is why the widgets are still showing when Wi-Fi is unavailable. Also, I can’t access the lock screen normally—I have to use Ctrl + Alt + Delete. It seems like my laptop may have been hacked or infected with a virus. I want to restore it to how it was before.

Can it be cached information from last network activity that make the widget still show information without network connection?

The point of testing to disable the widget is to rule out.. is it system widgets or is it other software showing. :-)

Please tell us how it is you are positive you have no WiFi.
What is showing if you click on the Ethernet icon in the bottom right corner?

IF you notice those Widgets change in real time whilst watching theme (excluding the clock), then you have some kind of internet connection, as far as I am concerned there are no two ways about it.

Is your phone connected by cable or wirelessly to your laptop?
