Can I install this OS build 22621.1 of Windows 11 without having problems with system stability?
Because I can't wait for its official release in October.
Has anyone installed and tested it?
Has anyone encountered problems with driver updates, and is it stable with this version of Windows?
Excited to know your answers, and thanks for all the answers.

Build 22621.1 came out as a Beta release in early May. If the only formal release is going to be 22H2 and that will not be out until October or November, I agree that is a long wait.

But, new Beta versions are certainly going to come out before then, maybe even in a couple of weeks.

As for stability, every version of Windows has bugs; otherwise, there would not be the monthly Patch Tuesday bug fixes. Is 22621.1 more stable than 22000.708? I'm running both, on different PCs, and have not run into issues with either of them.

But I don't do Gaming or other stuff that stresses the hardware -- so mine might not be the most common experience.

As others have said and will say -- the only way to find out if it stable for you is to install and use it.

You will have to try it and see. What works well on one persons PC maybe really bad on another's. There are far too many variants to answer this question. Just remember you can roll back if you have problems and also create an image with something like Macrium first

Another one here in the stable of it may not play nice on everyone's PC, I have it and use it as a daily, for me it's reliable and solid.

Let's put it this way:

That build passed all of Microsoft's quality tests / metrics. So it should be as reliable as any released version of Windows.

Bear in mind that there are always some systems that have problems - this happens with every version of Windows ever released. They only way to know for sure:

1) Make a backup of your current installation "just in case".

2) Either upgrade to or clean install the new version.

3) Test as much as possible. Is all okay? Great, you are done.

4) Problems? Either perform troubleshooting to resolve the issue or restore your backup.

22621.1 is still an Insider Beta build, so it will inevitably still have some things that need working on. But it is widely thought to be the build that will be released as 22H2 after some further cumulative updates have been tested by the Insiders. As such you could install it now and expect it to update to the release build 22621.nnn when it goes public.

You could do what I have done on one of my laptops, install it as a native boot vhdx to dual boot alongside your existing install. I find it to be stable enough, but I do still have my original Windows installed and available should it have any issues down the line.

I think you are mistaken. I'm not in the Insider program, but my install gets all the updates.

Same thing happened with the Insider build of 21H2. I started running 22000.51 in June 2021 and ran it up to the release in October. It got all the updates.

Not necessarily, @moob. There are always cumulative updates, which may/may not be released. It all depends on whether further bugs are discovered before "general release". And, of course, any necessary security updates will be released.

These are not updates, are Insiders versions

Updates not change build number...

like 22000.675, 22000.708, 19044.1738, 19044.1741...

there are non-security and security updates.

When change the build number, the build is not the same and is not an update.

Is another build.

Updates for build 22621 will be released when go public or only in beta channel (maybe).

So you want to see an Insider build that gets a new minor build number to prove that it really IS getting a quality update, not just a new build though a feature update? All recent builds so far have all got them, here are some examples.

Build 22581.1 got two quality updates (aka Cumulative updates) first to 22581.100 then 22581,200. Then it got a feature update to a new build, 22598.1 - that in turn got two: 22598.100 and 22598.200. Microsoft have not yet issued any cumulative updates for build 22621.1, when they do we will get then straight away, just as all previous builds have got theirs.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

@salim, it works fine for me. But as others have said, there are a lot of variables that factor into whether it's a stable build for you.
