Have you disabled the Clock? Maybe that's why the Steam icon is falling off the screen.

You could decide to keep all systray icons always visible on the taskbar. There is a checkbox for this, it's at the bottom of the window that opens when you run the following command:
explorer shell:::{05d7b0f4-2121-4eff-bf6b-ed3f69b894d9}
Only problem, this checkbox doesn't seem to work on Windows 11. To fix that problem, you can apply this registry edit:
reg add HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer /v EnableAutoTray /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

I ran into this same system-tray problem and ended up making a small free utility for it.

Disclosure: I made this.

It is called Systray Wrap Doubler. It makes Windows 11 notification-area/system-tray icons use a compact two-row layout, so visible tray icons can use the vertical space beside the clock/date area instead of staying in one long row or getting pushed awkwardly into overflow.

It has tray-menu commands for:

- Apply 2 Rows
- Revert
- Restart Shell
- Exit

It is not a registry-only tweak; it is a Windows shell customization tool, so only use it if you are comfortable with Explorer/taskbar tweaks. The installer includes the source code and docs, so people can inspect it, fork it, or adapt the approach into something else such as a Windhawk mod.

People run out of taskbar space, then you have remove some to keep a coherent look and if you have too many, the overflow gets cut off by a bar. Not a visually good look.

All of which works with .XAML files. The current Windows 10 mode is 32 bit so the tweaks won't show up unless you revert to Windows 11.

I suspect you have a display problem rather than a system tray problem.
Do you have any unusual display settings / utilities?

Personally, I'd reinstall the display driver before going any further just in case it has become corrupted during use.
