Is there a way to get a up to date report from my Windows 11 that tells me exactly what drivers I have for a planned reinstallation?

I used to just run Windows update and got my drivers installed. However, I tried a software called CCleaner which is really helpful to me. It found that several of my drivers were not up to date. Now when I install windows again, I would like to be in control of what those drivers are. I want to download them manually. Is there a way to get a comprehensive report on all my required drivers for a fresh installation? The manufacturer website for the motherboard usually has different recommendations from other software or even Windows Update.

If ALL your drivers are now current, then just make a backup. You will then have a folder with all your drivers in it and not have to download them.

The command is: dism /online /export-driver /destination:"X:\path-to-folder"

Replace the info in the quotes with the path you want to use.

I wouldn't rely on CCleaner to tell you which drivers are up to date and which aren't. Even Windows Update does a number of different checks to ensure that a newer driver package is applicable and actually compatible with your machine.

Tip: After you export all your drivers using the command provided by Mark, place the following code in a batch file (I use the name Install_Drivers.bat) and drop that batch file into the same folder that you exported the drivers to.

After you clean install Windows 10 or 11, simply double-click the batch file. All of the drivers will be automatically installed.

Note: When the graphics driver is installed, the screen may go blank for a little while. This is normal and expected behavior.

    The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.

I once backup all my drivers with the Dism command, this works great if you know which device you want drivers for. For example, to update your audio driver, you go to Device Manager, find your audio card under Sound video and game controllers, right-click, Update Drivers and then you browse to the appropriate folder. What about the chipset drivers? Surely is not convenient to expand the System Devices section and manually update all devices! It would be far better to download the latest chipset drivers appropriate for your computer (be careful, this is not always the latest Intel or AMD driver, make sure it works in your specific chipset) and just run the installer. I would backup my drivers, but manually download latest chipset drivers and latest graphics drivers to make sure I have the maximum possible performance my system can give.
