You make a valid point about LTSC but I'm retired and I prefer using a legitimate OS. Even if my business license was still valid purchasing an LTSC key would be above my pay grade. Perhaps I should look into it anyway.

i wonder what in windows that wont let you use your 2FA solution over the browser.. it almost sounds as smartscreen or what it's called.. I ripped that out with edge from my win10 LTSC IoT.. as i want an OS not an complete eco-system. *lol* 😅
My 80 year old mother is running LinuxMint and she dont even know it.. at east i have a feeling she still thinks she is on windows even i said i replaced windows with Linux back in 2020. :-)

as for how i solved win LTSC licence.. that we have to take on PM if you wonder, as my solution lives in the gray aria of the forum rules.. it do not break the rules, but it is in the gray aria so i know Brink dont like the discussion openly, just in case Microsoft get angry on elevenforum.. and i agree with Brink. its no reason to take the chance.. we all want elevenforum to stay alive :-) :-)
But the solution is totally openly on github and Microsoft also knows it is there without shutting it down, even they own github.. So it seems as MS dont mind it. :-)

Fiber has been around longer than many might think. I remember back in 96 when we were servicing battery stations in the oil field and pulling fiber for the computer interface. We had to be very careful with it because it was a bit more brittle back then and splicing was a pain. Back in town everyone was using dial up.

I honestly don't know. What I do recall is that Chevron was switching all their battery stations over to fiber and we just followed orders.

We are an isolated town with no fancy fibre or any kind of alternative save for the crappy cable company we have. I currently use DSL. Now they want to eliminate the copper services. the nearest big town is 1 1/2 hrs away & if you live 15 mins outside of town you can't get DSL, only satellite or dial up, maybe cable IF it's in your rural area.

Verizon applied to end copper wire services for hundreds of thousands of remaining legacy voice line customers across states including California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

That's the way it used to be where I live. The only reason we have fiber is the oil.

Yup, been there, done that. For over 10 years I was stuck with DSL until they got around to putting the fiber in, and I live in the suburbs outside a major city. They took their time, alright.... :mad: It's like night & day.

Now Microsoft joins LG on scanning the screen and recording audio and video in similar way as LG-smart TV in previous video i posted in this thread.

I seriously have a hard time to start liking windows again when it just keeps on expanding on user-data telemetry.
Even i hate Linux, i start to like it more and more even i hate some core things in the kernel.:cautious:

There is no excuse but there is most certainly an explanation. The explanation is elementary: People need to eat. So everyone has to make a living. When PCs went *BOOM* at the turn of the internet millennia it was pie in the sky and the sky was the limit. Everyone and their dog was on the make and on the take. The industry is looking for innovation, assimilation, and profit potential. If it can be made popular it will have profit potential. *POP* goes the world of tech. They did it with radio, they did it with TV, now they do it with the net and the world of PC. Some things never seem to change.

Its pretty fun i expected no one to react.. LG did something bad and a lot of people react.. Microsoft do the same and no one even care.

Honour among thieves is a limited concept and one would well to remember just who's play ground one agrees to enter after agreeing to the EULA. Failure to agree results in all exemption of liability on MS end of things. The boiler plate agreement is there to protect MS -- not the user. Agreement = compliance and this is often interpreted as "I agree that Microsoft has more say over what to do with the hardware I own than I have" Sadly, it is written in legalese so it's not so easy to spot. But c'mon MS is the King of exploits. None of this should come as a surprise. After all it's their playground that we agree to enter. We play in their sand box. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
I got my LG 37" TV in 2008.
It so dumb, it couldn't bang two rocks together.
