  • Staff
UPDATE 12/14:

November 22, 2021 - KB5007262 (OS Build 22000.348) Preview

IMPORTANT Because of minimal operations during the holidays and the upcoming Western new year, there won’t be a preview release (known as a “C” release) for the month of December 2021. There will be a monthly security release (known as a “B” release) for December 2021. Normal monthly servicing for both B and C releases will resume in January 2022.

For information about Windows update terminology, see the article about the types of Windows updates and the monthly quality update types. For an overview of Windows 11 (original release), see its update history page.

Note Follow @WindowsUpdate to find out when new content is published to the Windows release health dashboard.

Windows 11 servicing stack update - 22000.345

  • This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

Known issues in this update

Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.

How to get this update

Before installing this update

Microsoft combines the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system with the latest cumulative update (LCU). For general information about SSUs, see Servicing stack updates and Servicing Stack Updates (SSU): Frequently Asked Questions.

Install this update

Release ChannelAvailableNext Step
Windows Update or Microsoft UpdateYesGo to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. In the Optional updates available area, you’ll find the link to download and install the update.
Windows Update for BusinessNoNone. These changes will be included in the next security update to this channel.
Microsoft Update CatalogYesTo get the standalone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)NoYou can import this update into WSUS manually. See the Microsoft Update Catalog for instructions.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

Does this fix the taskbar bubbles appearing in the wrong places?
No, unless you're able to see it written in the list of fixes. Use Dev build if that Taskbar Tooltip issue is annoying you too much.

Hello.
This update causes me a annoyng bug in the taskbar search icon.
It's a little tricky to explain but I'll try:
When I move the mouse cursor over the search icon, a small history of the applications I recently opened appears.
If you click on a recently opened application it opens, but after that the mouse becames with a spinning wheel that dont stop unless i reboot.
The funny thing is that the mouse became unable to click in the search tab area, for example, if i open a page in the internet the mouse is fine unless i click near the search tab area (where it stays with the spinning wheel....just there i'm unable to click).
I try a sfc scannow, a in place repair.
Just fix the problem if i uninstall the KB 5007262.
Then all its fine.
This only happens if i click on recently opened items in the task bar icon.
I know it's hard to understand but I did my best.
Will anyone have a clue?

This Cumulative Update fixed on both my machines a problem discussed in this thread. I think per this line:
  • Updates an issue that prevents the display of File Explorer and desktop shortcut menus. This issue often occurs when you choose to use a single click to open an item.

You explained it just fine.

I have KB5007262 installed, and the spinning wheel appears for maybe a second on my laptop after selecting a recently opened app. But selecting an app (Event Viewer or Command Prompt ) took nearly 90 seconds to open the app. Selecting MacriumReflect was about 30 seconds the first time, and then immediate the second time. However, hovering over the search icon now does not pop-up the three apps.

This is not a worry for me as search is normally turned off on the TaskBar. I normally press the start button and then start typing the app name for something that does not have an icon on the TaskBar.

Thanks @Quandary.

Thats what i do for now, but is annoyng...i try eveything to fix without sucess.
Before this update everything was perfect.

Regards!

Bug strange volume listed by disk defrag with 22000.348 update on my PC. I did a clean installation e install the cumulative update manually and i got this bug. Please me contact if you as this bug. The volume that appears in the defragmentation application corresponds to my dvd drive. This morning I tried an installation without applying the 22000.348 update and in the defrag app and the strange volume not compared. Iso 22000.315.
For the moment I do not update to 348.

Congrats, Josey. I knew that if you endeavored to persevere, you'd get out.

Sorry you've had such a challenge. I don't think that's typical at all. I was in the program for about two weeks while we were waiting for the RTM of W11, and I got out without any trouble. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I did that.:(

I have that as well and I just ignore it.
I have it as well, and I do, too. It seems to just be a trace of a previously used/connected drive. In my case, it's a flash drive and an external DVD, neither of which is currently connected, but both show up in defrag-optimize Advanced view. It's nothing to worry about.
