When will Microsoft fix this crazy bug? Every time I check for new updates in WU, this update shows up every time. Is there any fix?

There are numerous reports both across the web and in the feedback hub regarding this update with no resolution. MS has said it was fixed in May, but the same users have reported it was not. Many others have had no problem with this update since MS said it was fixed.

Here's what I would do and the order I would do it to prove there is not an issue with your specific machine.

1. run troubleshooter-settings-system-troubleshoot-other troubleshooters-windows update-RUN.

2. Reset Windows update using Brink's tutorial Reset Windows Update in Windows 11 Tutorial

3. Run sfc after resetting update.
Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

4. CLEAN UP COMPONENT STORE - dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
5. Manually install the update
Disable all third party AV (including Malwarebytes) Make sure all processes for the AV are stopped in task manager. Then download the update here. Microsoft Update Catalog

6. At this point, if the update still won't install, you can attempt to fix the problem with a repair install
OR attempt to hide the update using wushowhide tool or powershell.

Please open an elevated command prompt and then enter the following command:

Code:
wusa /uninstall /kb:5007651

Please let me know what the result is, if it successfully uninstalls, then install the update again via Windows Update and it should hopefully be installed correctly this time. However, I suspect that the update isn't actually installed properly, which means that it will be repeatedly offered every time.

When I run the command, Windows responds that the update is not installed (!) Very strange, becuse I can see the update been installed and completed. What´s going on here?Screenshot 2023-09-01 183812.png

Interesting, could you please open an elevated PowerShell window and then enter the following command:

Code:
Get-WindowsUpdateLog

Please zip up the WindowsUpdate.log file which should be saved to %userprofile%\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.log. Additionally, please also provide your CBS log(s) from %systemroot%\Logs\CBS. Please include the .persist files as well if they are present.

Please attach the .zip in your next post.

Thanks, could you please provide the .persist files as well? Could you please upload them to Google Drive, One Drive or Dropbox? You can also use a file upload service such as WeTransfer too if you prefer.

I just started WU to look for new updates, as you can see, KB5007651 is present there.
Yes and it seemingly installs without any issues as well? I've dealt with a few of these issues in the past, usually it's because of a partial install, yet there any doesn't appear to be any remnants of it in your COMPONENTS or CBS subkey? Those .persist files may hopefully have some additional information as to what is happening.
