Yeah, I don't understand it. Just switched back to Win 11, now...and it's still disabled.
Maybe it was something else. Can't think of what it might be. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on it. :)
So win 11 seems to be using old codes from Win 10  . I actually have a provisioning package on my golden Win 10 which on first logon removes the Windows calling home feature (Getting things ready) to install junk. Shaves a good minute to first logon.

This out of band update, re-enabled the Task... Microsoft\Windows\Management\Provisioning\Logon, after I had disabled it.
[...] Curiouser and curiouser...
Just checked both my active machines, both with that logon task disabled for nearly 72 hours, and both updated with this out-of-band: still disabled; still no new .tmps.

Yay!

Well, I re-disabled it and it's stayed disabled through 2 reboots, and an sfc /scannow.

Now I'm gonna go back on Win 10 (where I also disabled that, and have "not" done any updates), and see if it's still disabled.

/edit
Still disabled on Windows 10.

Curiouser and curiouser...
I don't even have that task. I don't think I ever did.

Are you sure you looked in the right place? I think it's standard on 11 installations.

I had to reboot my desktop twice after installing the update to get things working right.

or you could have used the command shutdown.exe -r to do a full reboot rather than choosing Restart on the start menu which that one does a "quick" reboot while using shutdown.exe with the -r switch does a complete/full reboot
