Windows 11 servicing stack update - 22621.2061

This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

Known issues in this update

Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.

How to get this update

Before installing this update

Microsoft combines the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system with the latest cumulative update (LCU). For general information about SSUs, see Servicing stack updates and Servicing Stack Updates (SSU): Frequently Asked Questions.

If you want to remove the LCU

It is new. I just made a junction back to the drive I installed it on so it is not on my C: drive. It will be recreated if you run CB 2024 again.

I think that it left a bazillion temp files cause I stopped it early.

Cinebench installation, news to me ? Isn't it portable ?
Mine is run from F:\Cinebench2024 but results are saved in
C:\Users\count\AppData\Roaming\Maxon\
If a program doesn't have installation routine , it can't be uninstalled so it does keep any files made by it. Previous versionskept that in the forlder they were run from.

I ran the GPU test and 1/2 the multi core test then stopped it.
Then deleted the folder I had extracted it to. Then emptied the recycle bin.
I noticed my C:\ drive had almost 5GB more than it should.
Searched the C:\ drive for MAXON... and it found 4.5GB worth.
I deleted all them and C:\ drive was back to normal.

It seemed portable to me as well. Double clicked the .exe and the benchmark started immediately.

Yes, this one works differently, previous versions keep results in it's folder it was run from.

Yeah. And if you stop it before it finishes, I don't think it removes all it's temp files, from the Roaming folder.

No. it doesn't remove anything but ads just a bit after every subsequent run. Mine is now up to 4.5GB after several runs.

It's nice to have a new pic to watch while the benchmark runs, but 4.5GB of results is a bit much. :-)

It's nice to have a new pic to watch while the benchmark runs, but 4.5GB of results is a bit much. :-)
It's just first run, after that ads much less, few MB.

I know. MS is really messing up. Updates that just work, and they didn't even break any tweaks.

Both Win 10 and Win 11, took just 7 minutes each. What's the world coming to?
I may have to schedule an appt. with my shrink, so I can complain about something. :D

This replaced my Linux Notebook. I've used Windows since V2, tried various Linux distros but Windows continues to win for me.
Updated Ok.

See!!
Unbelievable. :-)

I've been saving up all my stress and anxiety for a good patch Tuesday rant, and MS releases good clean updates.
I feel... cheated. :(

Yes it is. I just dropped it in a folder on a non C. But it creates over 4gb in your roaming folder on the C drive once you have run it. I just moved that data to my cinebench folder and created a junction to it in the appropriate Maxon folder in roaming, because it gets recreated if deleted.
