Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3139 (KB5034220) to the Beta Channel.

REMINDER: All Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel will now be on the same build (Build 22635.xxxx) via an enablement package. For Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel who want to be the first to get features gradually rolled out to you, you can turn ON the toggle (shown in the image below) to get the latest updates as they are available via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollouts of features to everyone with the toggle turned on. Should you keep this toggle off, new features will gradually be rolled out to your device over time once they are ready.

Going forward, we will document changes in Beta Channel builds in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available and then new features, improvements, and fixes available to everyone in the Beta Channel.

[General]​

  • This update includes a handful of fixes to improve overall reliability.
  • Fixed a dwm.exe crash impacting some Insiders in the previous flight.

[Task Manager]​

  • Fixed an issue impacting Task Manager reliability on the last few builds.

About the Beta Channel​

The Beta Channel is the place we preview experiences that are closer to what we will ship to our general customers. Because the Dev and Beta Channels represent parallel development paths from our engineers, there may be cases where features and experiences show up in the Beta Channel first. However, this does not mean every feature we try out in the Beta Channel will ship. We encourage Insiders to read this blog post that outlines the ways we’ll try things out with Insiders in both the Dev and Beta Channels.

*Getting new features: For Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel who want to be the first to get features gradually rolled out to you, you can turn ON the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollouts of features to everyone with the toggle turned on. I have just one library for music. Do you have many, if so perhaps thats a weak point in the Indexing process?

Also, there is a difference in how Media Player and Media Player Legacy display my Album/Artist Art; sometimes the same sometimes not.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the player? Up until I saw this thread I've never tried using MP for music but I tried it and everything works normally. It was very slow to index my albums but all art is intact.

Got the restart reminder about an hour ago, I hadn't been expecting one till at least next Thursday. Seems to be working ok as soon as I had rejected all the wonderful offers from Microsoft.

Yes, a few times, some art started reappearing, but if I close and reopen its all blank default icons again. Been using this app for a while never had this problem, before

Thanks, will try this later. Been really frustrating I had everything so nicely organised with the correct artwork, and then this happened. When this issue initially happened, when re adding the libraries, only certain artwork reappeared. Eventually nothing loaded only the default icons.

It looks like Media Player has different issues for different Library configurations. My library is a mix of mp3 and wma files. I tried editing the Location metadata of an mp3 file then moving it to that location but failed, so I suspect that Media Player keeps its own Location data after indexing. I'll try re-indexing.
