Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 26100.994 (KB5039304) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2 (Build 26100).

This update includes the following features and improvements:
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC). It fails to verify the policies of some apps.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects WDAC. It reports a certain class of its policies as not active or not authorized.
  • This update addresses an issue that might cause DWM.exe to stop responding.
  • This update brings Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles up to date for certain mobile operators.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Unified Write Filter (UWF). Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) API calls to shut down or restart a system throws an access denied exception.
  • This update addresses an issue believed to be the underlying cause of some Insiders noticing stutters in some animations recently (dropping frames), particularly with Task View.

It's in the All apps menu, but not in the Installed Apps list, and Revo Pro doesn't see anything to uninstall. I was hoping this update would wipe it out, but no luck.

Anybody have any idea how I can remove this useless eyesore from my All apps list?

If all else fails, give this a look. For Apps, it's like Revo on steroids. Usually, if an app is not registered in the system, Revo will not see it.

Re what MS may do if the build number gets to 26100.999. With 23H2 they used 4 digits after the period (.) For example the last Release Preview version was apparently 22631.3807. They used the same numbering conventions for 21H2 and 22H2.

Why does it matter so much what MS are doing with their numbering schemes? I don't care what number the first official release version has. Just make sure it works ok MS. :D

Yes, I tested for that. I have three machines running RP 24H2, all 'enrolled' using the OfflineInsiderEnroll script. Before checking for updates I unenrolled one of them - it didn't get .994 until I re-enrolled it.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

Only if your PC is supported. If not you'll have to use the KB msu. standalone installer workaround.

An unsupported device running Windows 11 will get all the cumulative updates, the same as any supported device. That holds true for the Insider builds as well as the RTM release. Of my 3 machines running the RP build, one is unsupported - but that didn't stop it being offered the .994 CU.

The only thing that an unsupported device won't be offered in Windows Update is a Feature Update to the next version, for that you need to use the ISO to upgrade manually, and a workaround to get past the system checks.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.

You can "roll your own" by slipstreaming the update into your ISO image. I'll test this tonight and see if it works. It doesn't always work the same with prerelease versions, but it would be an interesting test in any case.

Just for clarity, your unsupported machine needed to be enrolled into Insider Preview before it was offered the .994 build? Unlike the previous two builds where that did not seem to be required. MS is certainly a mysterious character.

Is there anything in this build that makes it compelling and a ' must have ' ?

Recall Preview was already removed with .863, it was also removed in Canary 26241.5000.

Before they removed it it was failing anyway. 😂😂🤷‍♂️
I assume they meant requirement for AI. 😵‍💫

I do not have that probably cause I used Group Policy to remove it a few build back.

I have to go see my Retina Specialist, I will as soon as I can but probably not today. I won't be able to use my PC when I get back and it may not even still be there? I did a quick search and this is all I found. Be back later in the day. @Wisewiz I hope this helps I have some REG hacks as well I think.

I can confirm. Not Insider. I got an update with 26100.1 to 863 but no update to 994. I updated with UUP dump and it runs fine except same issue as before. Video on monitor 2 in full-screen lags badly.
