Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 26100.994 (KB5039304) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2 (Build 26100).

This update includes the following features and improvements:
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC). It fails to verify the policies of some apps.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects WDAC. It reports a certain class of its policies as not active or not authorized.
  • This update addresses an issue that might cause DWM.exe to stop responding.
  • This update brings Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles up to date for certain mobile operators.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Unified Write Filter (UWF). Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) API calls to shut down or restart a system throws an access denied exception.
  • This update addresses an issue believed to be the underlying cause of some Insiders noticing stutters in some animations recently (dropping frames), particularly with Task View.

If you don't have patient for the next schedule clean up, then run this command to delete immediately

This will not only clean up the WinSxS folder and free the size in the pic, but will make windows update faster for it will skip updating this package in future updates

What are you talking about?

To remove a usless copy of Edge WebView from WinSxS just run this command:

Remove-WindowsPackage -Online -NoRestart -PackageName "Microsoft-Edge-WebView-FOD-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.26100.1"

It will remove this folder from WinSxS but only after a clean up

No reason to remove it. You can do whatever you like.
I'll let MS remove it when they decide it is no longer needed. 🤷‍♂️
I have plenty of space on the disk to worry about 533 MB. 😎

Not for logged in vs. not logged in. It asked me to enable third party cookies when I logged in, and would not work without them.

There are a lot of things they don't remove and others they don't fix either. If the cry out isn't loud enough, don't hold your breath. That's why I don't bother with Beta testing Insider and others. I use what I need and I try to block the rest as best I can.

How long does this take? I ran the command 5 minutes ago and have this
(I typed dism in the window, nothing else is happening)

Terminal is using 0% CPU

Closed the windows after 5 minutes, ran the Cleanup command. The folder is still there, it did nothing.

Best idea I've heard yet. I have thought many a time that testing Prerelease and Beta (let alone DEV and CAN) is getting to be a real pain. Thinking of fresh installing Win 11 standard and keep the toggle off and skip all this fuss.

The latest build of 26.100.994 is rock solid and it is on The UUP Dump. you can get to that build then toggle off.

Exactly. RP builds are *generally* what's ready for full public rollout. Yeah I know occasionally something f*cks up but mostly these builds are good.
