  • [Open Source Software] This update adds attributions to credits.txt files for Rust OSS components.
  • [Input Method Editor (IME)] When a combo box has input focus, a memory leak might occur when you close that window.
  • [WebView2 apps] They do not detect input from Xbox 360 and Bluetooth controllers.
  • [Task Manager]
    • Its Settings page might have a white background when it should not.
    • It stops responding when you switch from a high contrast theme to a normal theme.

Install this update
Method 1: Install all MSU files together
Download all MSU files for KB5043178 from Microsoft Update Catalog and place them in the same folder (for example, C:/Packages). Use Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM.exe) to install the target update. DISM will use the folder specified in PackagePath to discover and install one or more prerequisite MSU files as needed.

Updating Windows PC
To apply this update to a running Windows PC, run the following command from an elevated Command Prompt:

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

There seems to be an odd issue with BitLocker and portable hard drives. In File Explorer if you right click on a Portable Drive, BitLocker is not shown on the menu. If the drive has been BitLocked, the disk will show as Local Disk, and it won't show the correct drive name, if you have renamed the drive. Before this update this was not an issue

Finds different files to repair, but nothing is actually repaired even if it says successfully repaired. 😂😂😜🤷‍♂️

The problem with having a loop error with SFC is that you don't know what files are affected if any. It's like Russian roulette except you won't die, unless your machine does :unsure: :oops::LOL:.

Not installing. Sticking with 1742 which runs very well.

I'm not sure what the link to UUPDump.net gives, but it's not 26100.1882.

The update can be done using a MSU from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

The issue with SFC and the mystery unremovable 8.63GB "Windows Update Cleanup" in Disk Cleanup remain, the same as for 26100.1876. (At least, for me.) That was for a 26100.1742 re-install, followed by the update to 26100.1882.

Dueling compulsions: keep the latest build, glitches and all, or revert to a more glitch-free 26100.1742? ;-)
