Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 26100.1876 (KB5043178) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2 (Build 16100).

Below is a summary of the new features and improvements included as part of this update separated into two sections: gradual rollout and normal rollout. The bold text within the brackets indicates the item or area of the change we are documenting.

Gradual rollout​

These might not be available to all users because they will roll out gradually. Text bolded in brackets indicate the area of the change being documented.
  • [Start menu] New! The “Sign out” option is now on the account manager when you open the Start menu. To change to a different user, select the ellipses (…). A list of other users appears to make it easier to switch.

Installing now -- installed the 23H2 update first which worked without any issues

If it doesn't work it can always be rolled back. Not anticipating any trouble though -- and my 23H2 system did have copilot.

Similar issue here! Prior to update Windows was fine no issues with SFC or DISM I had just recently formatted fresh installed 26100.1586 then updated auto to 26100.1742 Again SFC and Dism were fine. Because I re enrolled into the insider program I cannot go back to an earlier version (well no options were there for a go back to earlier version) So I Downloaded the uup image and did a inplace reinstall , Once completed the issue was still there, So I chose to go back to earlier version which undid the inplace install as there was no reason for it since it did not resolve the problem. Ive tried running sfc from safe mode command prompt again no resolve.


Any thoughts ? other than a wipe re install (Rather not wipe again) I am not sure if the sfc issue will cause any instability in this case

Besides the results from your scans, are you having any serious problems on your PC? I would just leave things as they are if nothing is serious, a fix will surely surface with the next update. Seems these issues/problems are affecting many users with this particular build.

To be completely honest, I pulled the insider reg key, in place re-installed 26100.1742, the sfc issue was immediately fixed. The Downgrade does not seem to have created any issues. No I did not experience any life changing issues while I was on 26100.1876 But I simply was not feeling that version. Hopefully next update resolves the sfc repair issue.

I have not heard from anyone who does not have this problem on this build. This is not an isolated problem. It is universal.

I have it but it is not affecting the performance. I really can see no change though from .1742 to .1846.

That is up to you, I would hope that this has been reported to MS. The only change is in the build number that I can see. This was said to be Final yesterday,If so why can't one get an ISO using the MCT ?

You can use the current ISO to repair anyway, it will just install the latest update during the process

the Spotlight for the desktop seems to be stuck on the standard images
is there a way to clean out files from this location in the same way i do for lockscreen when i am stuck on the same picture?

Mine just updated today. 🤷‍♂️👍
Maybe they have some explanation on the web about fixing this. I don't remember last time I had a problem with it. 🤷‍♂️
Most procedures I find are for the old Spotlight for the Background or the Lock Screen, nothing good for the new Windows Spotlight for the background that is part of MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy.
