That's a different error than Ian or I got.
So sending the support tool logs was a good idea in your case. :-)



It's starting to look like all the 3rd party AV companies are gonna have to get some files updated or signed or whatever.

OR... it's MS playing games so people will switch to Microsoft Defender. LOL
They do stuff like that a lot.
Mainly with 3rd party browsers, but now they seem to messing with 3rd party AVs.

I've been running Bitdefender Internet Security (paid) since 2013.
This is the first time I "saw" Windows have a problem with a BD file.


Ok... it's way past my bed time, so... Hasta manana amigos. :-)

Did not need KB5043080, just KB5052093.

Again, thanks but when I said SFC etc will work when the Bitdefender squawk is turned off, that's what I meant,

This applies to the DISM health list as well. 24H2 26100.3323 remains the best suspect we have,

Saw the prompt to install this when I checked Windows Update just before I left for work at 8am here in the UK. Did not have time to install it but will do this later.

I am curious about the File Explorer fix for improving scanning speeds with lots of media because I have like 18,000+ JPEG and PNG screenshots from various games taken over the last 20 years or so in a Pictures > Screenshots folder and that can often cause File Explorer to stall for a bit as these are saved in OneDrive but with the files actually stored on my internal hard drive for quicker access rather than being links to a cloud file.

My comp didn't want the SSU update KB5043080, but installed the Cumulative update with no problem.

@ian50 ...and I just got the sfc /scannow
same Bitdefender error you mentioned when running sfc /scannow.

I just called Bitdefender and told them about the problem with bdhkm64.dll.
And told them it appears on the free and the paid version.

They will pass it on to their programmers, who will fix it... fast. They always do. :-)

I also replied to their email with all the details and the screenshot of the error message.




Here's a screen shot of the error. SFC completes with no integrity violations.
It just throws up this error when you run sfc /scannow

No. I got them too. For some reason MY get-hotfix command only shows some updates. LOL
When you do an In-Place Upgrade... it somehow messes up the get-hotfix list.

BUT... my Update History, shows everything.

I just heard back from Bitdefender tech support. They don't support preview builds. Hopefully, they will have a fix in place by March 11, when the regular update for Windows comes out. In the meantime, Bitdefender's Advanced Threat Defense is nonfunctional.

This looks strange, it shows twice the same defended update. Twice in history too. 🤷‍♂️
