Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.6690 (KB5065786) to the Dev Channel for Windows Insiders on Windows 11, version 25H2.

Changes in Dev Channel builds and updates are documented in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available (via Settings > Windows Update*) and then new features, improvements, and fixes rolling out to everyone in the Dev Channel. The following changes and improvements are rolling out for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:
  • Translation powered by Microsoft Copilot: We are introducing the ability to do translation with Microsoft Copilot with Click to Do, making it easier for you to translate on-screen text with just a few clicks. When you select text that is in a different language from your Windows display language or preferred language settings, a translation suggestion will appear. The selected text is sent to the Copilot app, which provides the translation seamlessly within the experience. This feature currently works if you have the new Copilot prompt box in Click to Do that began rolling out in the previous flight. This change is not yet rolling out to Windows Insiders in the EEA (European Economic Area) or China.

I was gonna mention that as I tried it out on the beta build with the same issue lol. However, I discovered if you select solid color first and then slideshow it will go back to slideshow. Other then that it seems to work as well as a 3rd party animated app like say Lively Wallpapers. As far as resources, the memory impact is very minor but the animation will keep a constant small load on your CPU and keep your GPU in considerable constant use if anyone is concerned about that.

I just discovered the same thing. I clicked on a couple option and then Slideshow didn't keep flipping back to picture. That's in my rear-view mirror. I don't know why it wouldn't use the GPU, but maybe it's the type of video, I was using MP4 videos, the only thing I could find in full screen for my 5120x1440 display.

Whoa, that's like a 5K res video there. I would say that's gonna use some resources. For the average user they'll probably want to stick with standard HD to 2K if they are going to run an animated background everyday all day. I'm guessing that animation as a Windows background doesn't stop with a window set to full screen or running a game huh? At least Lively Wallpaper gives you the option to automatically disable the animated background when a window covers most of the screen

Yep, I have no idea what options this will have when it's done, very few now. I wish that the Microsoft team would stop wasting time in crap like this and fix the real bugs! How about the Explorer memory leak, how many years has that been an issue?

Sure, but I couldn't find it in my screen size. Truthfully, I found very few videos in my screen size. The desktop looks kinda' stupid if the background doesn't fill the screen.

That is true, your big screen will leave you with limited options for sure if you want animated walls.
