Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.6690 (KB5065786) to the Dev Channel for Windows Insiders on Windows 11, version 25H2.

Changes in Dev Channel builds and updates are documented in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available (via Settings > Windows Update*) and then new features, improvements, and fixes rolling out to everyone in the Dev Channel. The following changes and improvements are rolling out for Click to Do on Copilot+ PCs:
  • Translation powered by Microsoft Copilot: We are introducing the ability to do translation with Microsoft Copilot with Click to Do, making it easier for you to translate on-screen text with just a few clicks. When you select text that is in a different language from your Windows display language or preferred language settings, a translation suggestion will appear. The selected text is sent to the Copilot app, which provides the translation seamlessly within the experience. This feature currently works if you have the new Copilot prompt box in Click to Do that began rolling out in the previous flight. This change is not yet rolling out to Windows Insiders in the EEA (European Economic Area) or China.

That's true, and in addition it also seems to disable the ability to go back to the slideshow! I'm going to disable it and forget they added it. :rolleyes:

I had to reboot to restore normal functionality and be able to pick slideshows again. Not sure why that was, but I'm back to sanity. I don't think I'm willing to spend 10-15% of my processing power to have a moving desktop image. Truthfully, it's actually quite distracting to have something moving all the time behind the working windows.

I'm pretty sure every animated wallpaper program on the market disables or pauses the background when a window is maximized in order to preserve processing power and battery. I wouldn't be surprised if this would do the same once its officially announced.

Maybe, but I rarely maximize windows since I'm using a ultra-wide 45" screen.

Don't know if the process is using the GPU, it doesn't seem it is given the processor usage.

I was gonna mention that as I tried it out on the beta build with the same issue lol. However, I discovered if you select solid color first and then slideshow it will go back to slideshow. Other then that it seems to work as well as a 3rd party animated app like say Lively Wallpapers. As far as resources, the memory impact is very minor but the animation will keep a constant small load on your CPU and keep your GPU in considerable constant use if anyone is concerned about that.

I should mention now that things have stabilized and sat a bit the GPU use seems to average more like 10%. Also I haven't specified and don't know if that's even possible with this setting which GPU gets used. I'm just checking out if it works then going back to slideshow.
