Personally I was hoping it wouldn't go ahead. Time for a Republic. It's not fair on them as humans, restricts their lives and makes them entitled. Plus the Royal Family is part of the aristocracy generally. The "landed gentry". Which is archaic and medieval. The vast majority of land in the Uk is owned by a handful of aristocrats. When you mention Republic - people get scared and say - I'd rather have the Royal Family than someone like Donald Trump. Thing is, maybe an American republic is different to a European one - the US is a very large country. France is a Republic. It works really really well. The people there own their country - they feel more confident. They are not subserviant to anyone. There is more equality.

They still have their history and beautiful palaces to visit - but they're owned by the country.

Ok rant over! Loved the Queen but she should have been the last.
