Good evening folks, or late night for you people across the pond.

I'm still really sick, fever is hovering around 101-102 F, can't get warm, shivering under the blankets. My hands are totally cold. Still dizzy & don't feel like eating although I am forcing some stuff down my throat. Spending about 90% of the day in bed.

I hate to say it, I might Covid. Going to get a test morrow at the pharmacy, hopefully I can drive OK.

Problem is, even if I have it, I can't go to the hosp because they'll probably try to admit me, and I'm the only one taking care of my Wife, so looks like whatever the outcome I'm going to have to tough it out at home. I'm the only one she's got & I gotta hang in there for her.

Thanks for all the prayers & well wishes.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

darn, that do not sound good.. I hope you get well really soon and you feel a bit better by the time you read this.
Cant you ask a neighbor to go to the pharmacy and get one of those test for you?

I really hope it isn't covid, so its just a easy bug you can fight off in a few days. :-)
Take it easy and rest so much as you can. fever around 101 is good to beat evil bugs as they dont like temperatures like that. Just make sure to keep hydrated and get some energy.. even if it is candy or ice cream if you dont feel for normal food, as the body wants fast energy/carbs to fight the bug.
Take it really easy if you feel dizzy, so you dont hurt yourself. 🫂

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Some dishes do help, if you have an upset stomach etc. :-)

I'm up around this time because that's when my Wife wakes up & I have to get her out of bed, get her breakfast & other things,

Normally at this point I would be back in bed after she's up & all set, but I have to get ready to go to the pharm. It's pouring rain outside so it's going to be a wet trip.

Yes @Marie SWE, I'm trying to get something down at intervals, nuts, yogurt, something to keep my body going. I'm also taking my multivitamins 3X a day now.

And I'm surprised I didn't think of this in the 1st place, chicken soup. While I'm at the market I'll get a 3 or 4 cans, good idea. @Bree

I'm hoping if I test positive the pharm doesn't have to report me to the health dept, I hear they can be rather insistent on admitting people with covid.

My Wife is worried also about what happens if they forcibly admit me to the hospital. There is going to be no one to take care of her. She can't get on the potty or into bed by herself, let alone change her diapers or make her food.

Also I have to get blood work done for an appt with the urologist next week. Damn, this was a lousy week for this to happen.

It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds (and a few others) as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
