Evening Bree.

Most days there is no smoke but on any day, depending on the wind, we get smoke. Saturday was the latest smoke. Just enough to cause a haze in the distance, then the rains came and the wind switched direction.

My sister in law is out in BC and the awful fires in the state of Washington are smoking her in.

I'd really like to hear from some experts where this ends. Vast parts of Canada and the US are covered in forest. Are we just going to let in systematically burn?

More and more houses are being built in forested areas and when they burn the whole town can be consumed. Big article in today's paper, insurance companies are rethinking their fire policies for these communities and cottage country..

I spent two years in Germany, there foriest do not look like ours; they are kept clean of underbrush, locals keep them clean for firewood. The trees along the streams are trimmed for wood, also.

Our wildfire are typically heathland or farmland. We don't have much ancient woodland left, about 13% of Britain is forest now.

Yeah.. i woke up three times within an hour.. and last time i looked at the clock and saw it was only 65minutes left to the evil alarm clock going off.. so i went up.

Yes.. tko is over for this time... today the energy slowly comes back.. so i have more energy today then yesterday.. but i will have more energy tomorrow then today... slow, but still its turning around now.

It was a fun day on the forum yesterday.. a really fast and fun discussion thread that derailed.

To bad Brink couldn't clone the thread in to chillout room as it was fun and speedy

It felt a bit too late for me to go back to sleep, so I got up instead.

i wish i could sleep through the night.. i was in bed for almost 7 hours and i woke up five times.
darn.. that one is not fun.. i had a call just before 10am yesterday.. i had slept 3hours then.. and it was a wrong number call.. that one is really irritating as then it has zero purpose.

Good morning / afternoon folks.

It was 61 F this morn, a nice cool morn.

OK, so the airbag in my drivers seat facing the door has a short in it. I was like WTF, there's an airbag there? They told me there's also airbags in the back rest. The tech told me because of the constant getting in/out is the reason those airbags got bad after a while, the constant pressure of in/out

They'll have to take out & tear apart the seat, that'll cost me $740

I'm thinking with all the med bills we have lately, I might have to wait a while. Not that I like the idea of one of them not working maybe, but there's plenty of other air bags all around me. So I'll have to see.

As usual I had a couple sales guys come up to me, saying how incredibly low the milage was on my car & how they could get me a "really good deal" if I wanted to trade it in. Told then thank you but no thanks for now.

darn.. that is not fun with the airbag.
If you want the rest of the SRS/airbag system to work while you waiting to save up to a new one. Ask if they can put in an airbag resistor so the system still thinks that one works and all the rest will work.
They often put those airbag resistors on the passenger side if you have a rear-facing car seat in front.
I have one of those connected to my steering wheel airbag cable as i have switched to a sport steering wheel... but i still want the rest of them to work.

Getting at the airbag is the issue, they said they would have to take the cloth cover off the seat & all the insulation to get at it. A real PIA.

Like I said, for now they told me that the other airbags would work so going with that for now.

Yeah.. getting to in the seat often is.. but the cable is easy to get to

Okay, that is good news.. then you dont have as i have on my car.. if my airbag light is on, then the whole system is out until its fixed

Well, I hope that's not the case, I forgot to ask, but it rarely comes on (knock on wood), just randomly, mostly when 8i get in, it'll stay on until I get out & then when I get in it goes off.

OK, just called them & no, the wholes system isn't disabled, just the one in the seat.
