Had to start the day out by getting a hold of UPS. I ordered medical supplies for my Wife, they say it was delivered yesterday at 2:30 PM. My Wife was out on the front porch at that time. Had to call them, they said they delivered it to the wrong addy, so they say they'll dispatch someone to get it to us today.

Hopefully it's still there at the other addy & they get to us, you know how packages tend to disappear from porches nowadays,:mad:

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

Yeah, that's a good idea for next time maybe. Here in the US in some cities they have a real problem with people stealing packages off the porches. A lot of people got porch cameras but the thieves just wear hoodies & face coverings so you can't see who did it.

i think that is a world wide problem.. We have problem with that too over here.
I think honesty went out the window sometime in the early 70's.. and then got worse for every decade to come... so in 2030 we will see even more of it

Yeah, in some big cities they have gangs that drive around neighborhoods looking for packages left out.

Worse yet, some of them will pull up behind a truck while it's in traffic, pry open the truck doors & start tossing packages into the car. The driver usually can't see what's going on at the back of the truck.

That has not happen here... (yet).. but i have read on the news two times when they have stolen the delivery truck.
Modern keyless cars just take seconds to steal... in the past a pro needed a minute to hotwire a car... but seconds its no way the delivery guy can even see it as it take longer time to walk from the truck with his back turned to it and to the porch.. and when he hears its start he is to far away to run to it.

I think its time to do as they did in the past.. a hidden button to break the power to the start-key... but nowadays a hidden button to break the power to the start button. *lol*

Well, they're telling people not to keep their car remotes near the front door anymore, and to put it in a tin can or something in the house so it can't be scanned.

They showed something on the news that a cam caught, the person went up to the front door with a scanner & got the frequency for the car remote, he sent it to another person next to the car that used that frequency to unlock the doors & start the car, & he drove off with it.

Modern times, modern problems.

They're also telling people if you can help it, not to use the remote to lock your car in a public place because someone can be sitting in the lot with a scanner & they can unlock your car while your in the store & steal stuff from it, or drive off with it.

They're also telling people if you can help it, not to use the remote to lock your car in a public place because someone can be sitting in the lot with a scanner & they can unlock your car while your in the store & steal stuff from it, or drive off with it.
