Actually, it's raining out. Not unusual for this time of year. The leaves are off the elm tree in our front yard. I'm leaving them on the lawn. Can't rake anymore.

Slept late but that is my prerogative. Yesterday was a busy day. Saw a new doctor. I'm accustomed to a male doctor but this lady really does seem to have it together. She decided to keep me on the heart meds and put me on some new medication I have yet to go pick up. Next month they are going to see if I need to be put on oxygen. The missus has been very supportive. We went shopping yesterday and it looks as though I have enough in the bank to make it through another month. All this months bills are paid in full (as usual) so that leaves me one more week before the next wave of bills starts to make it to my door. Business as usual. This old man endeavours to remain fiscally responsible in the face of Canada's struggling economy.
We got a turkey yesterday and despite it being a modest size it still cost 50 bucks. Eating is becoming really expensive these days. Canada celebrates Thanksgiving (which is quite different than the American version) every October long weekend. Christopher Columbus was never a big hit in these parts, but staying alive and having enough food to make it through the winter certainly was and still is. Even so the missus makes a big deal about thanks giving, her being from USA and very traditional in many respects. She likes to put a southern twist on things and for that I have no complaint. Her Turkey Gumbo is absolutely delicious. It's a good thing I can order
Slap Ya Mama on Amazon or she would be in tears. I'm looking forward to my other other daughter coming home from university. My other other other daughter just recently got accepted to university as well. I'm beginning to wonder... ARE
all my children going to university?? Not even sure if it is a good idea but I have no say in their lives at that point. The choice is entirely their own. (I have 5 offspring.) My first completed his degree in petroleum engineering. That leaves two to decide.
Managed to sort through a bit more of this tech I inherited. Hoping the daughter, who is thrilled with the idea of building and designing her own circuits, takes some of this load off my hands. I have no use for bread boards, capacitors, resistors, transistors, and all these chips. I'm too old for this stuff. Not sure where Jim's oscilloscope went but whoever got it I hope is putting it to good use. I have enough as it is.
Yesterday, I managed to get Win 11 25H2 on the MSI Tomahawk build. I never much cared for MSI's version of a BIOS. Drove me nuts trying to get it to accept the installation because another version of Win 11 was already on the machine and I needed it there to transfer the key. In the end I won but man, what a battle! MSI likes to use the 'less is more' approach to the design of their BIOS on their gaming platforms. I never went in for that faulty logic. I do have to say that DDR5 systems are blazing fast when coupled with a fairly substantial CPU. Alas, AMD would not have been my first choice. Well, at least the Tomahawk build is fast. One would think it should be the case with over 6000 MHz of 128GB of system RAM and it is. My Blondie wants this beast. I plan on retrieving the 4TB stick of NVMe for a different project. I'm thinking somebody snagged Jim's 5090. No worries. I have enough junk.
