Since the v157.0, v157.01 & v158.0 updates on three different Windows 10 & Windows 11 computers, my active tab has been blank [despite several Firefox restarts and computer restarts]. The problem is evident in Firefox's safe mode as well.
This picture shows
- a blank active tab, and
- a normal non-active tab, and
- the tab page title appearing when I hover the cursor on the blank active tab.

Has anybody else experienced this?
Does anybody know how to fix it?

@Try3; things to try:
1 Enable showing the Title Bar (if you have set it to disabled) in Customize Toolbar.
&/or
2 In about:config set the following pref, (which shows the Windows Accent color on the main toolbar) if set.
browser.theme.windows.accent-color-in-tabs.enabled <> toggle to false
(instead try setting browser.theme.native-theme to true)

When the System Title Bar is not shown and the about:config Accent pref is true, this is what I get when Nova is active.

That did it.
I have no memory of ever disabling it. I'll add checking it to my setup notes.
[Added later - And the fix also worked on another computer. My setup notes contain no note of ever having disabled the title bar.]

Thanks a million,
Denis

After testing a lot of other browsers, I came to Waterfox.
Waterfox is a fork of Firefox, that uses the ESR version of Firefox as a basis. In Waterfox you can choose between UI Nova, Proton and Photon.
- Nova we all know now as being horrible, reason for many users to say goodbye to Firefox.
- Proton is the UI used until Firefox v156
- Photon is the old UI that Firefox used long ago and that I imitated using a userChrome.css file with many modifications.
In the setting Photon you can customize the UI of Waterfox completely. Many extra settings are provided. It is really very universally configurable! So I set it to Photon, made my choices for extra settings and see: it really looked like I was used to in the old Firefox days without userChrome,css mods.

Then I did some finetuning in a userChrome file, of which I could just copy strings from the existing Firefox version, but just to disable the many menu and context-menu items that are in Firfox and thus as well in Waterfox.

Then I installed Stylus and the styles and didn't experience those delays that I had with Vivaldi. It was about the same as in Firefox.
So today I have said farewell to Firefox (which I used about from the start of it) and am completely over to Waterfox.
I have to retract the opinoin above, because after I had permanently installed Waterfox, at some point I had to install the banking routine on it. That is a very easy task in Firefox, but the banking software refused to accept Waterfox's much stricter privacy protection. No matter what I changed regarding privacy settings, nothing helped. Ultimately, I decided not to make Waterfox permanent after all and stuck with Firefox. Because my thoughts were: what if other sites do not accept this much more strict privacy settings? With Firefox I know I don't have any problems with any sites at all...

I have then heavily modified Firefox using userChrome.css and userContent.css files (the latter for the about:... pages such as about:preferences). I spent well over two weeks working on it and I am very satisfied with the result. This is the way Firefox 158 now is looking:

No trace of Nova at all, back to what it was!
I learned a lot about the structure Mozilla uses these days for coding the UI of Firefox. Knownow that the code in te userChrome has to be according to that newer codes of Mozilla.
An example:
All popup panels, menus and so on are coded for corner radius ans colors in this way:

panel,
dialog,
findbar,
form,
#searchFilter {
/* border-radius changes*/
accent-color: rgb(0, 114, 240) !important;

}

Sometimes it is really very hard to find the right -- expression via the Devtools.
But I am glad I managed to get it this way and will stay with Firefox as long as it will exist or as long as I live, whichever comes to an end earlier...
