Latest Google Chrome released for Windows

Version 154 (release) seems to have changed Bookmark Manager. Before, on re-opening Chrome the folders display in Manager would remain expanded as in the previous session but with 154 it now resets to a few top level folders, Bookmark Bar, Other and Mobile - plus before 155 which appeared the day after, Managed as well. Bookmark Manager was the easiest way to bring up bookmarks to select - easier then the side panel or - the current best work-around - navigating down from Bookmark Bar. As with incessant Windows updates things get added and largely ignored until one day something we rely on gets removed. Another feature is if a folder is left clicked as if to drag and drop but released in the same place then Chrome hangs.

Jak22, as I understood, you mean that now Bookmark bar in the Manager is initially shown in collapsed state, but previously it was expanded. This is a minor change which added one mouse click.

But as for a bug with the folder which is selected, dragged and released at its original place, I confirm that Chrome hangs. You can write a bugreport with all details, which will greatly help developers: Chromium Issue Tracker

Slavic I meant Bookmark Manager. This was how I accessed bookmarks that I've organised in nested bookmark folders. Some sub-folders I have in an open expanded state and next time Chrome was opened the same layout was restored. Since 154 Chrome collapses Bookmark Manager to a few top level folders - similar to Edge behaviour - one of which is Bookmark Bar. This has annoyed other users too. The current work around is to click down through the folder hierarchy starting at Bookmark Bar - but it's necessary to journey through all sub-folders each time. Both issues reported using Help-> Report an issue but I'll take a look at that tracker.
