I have used "Update Driver" before in device manager, but following a reboot found the old driver back again.
Rolling back driver gives you an opportunity to give an answer which tells Windows not to bother installing previous/older versions.

I have used this tool but Windows knows best and goes ahead anyway!

As I stated, I used that tool. Great. That blocked that old driver from being installed. But then, Microsoft installed an even older driver!
