Just butting-in on another MR related issue: - In the image shown in post #234 Macrium state that the latest version is 8.0.7175 but does this only apply to the paid-for version? I have the free version and that is 8.0.7279 [UEFI] which was installed via Macrium's 'Check for updates' sometime recently. Is this another pulled release? It seems to be working okay in creating Diff images so I assume it is okay to leave it installed?

8.0.7279 is fine and never been pulled.

This comment reflects (pun intended lol) my suggestion we need separate 8.0 and 8.1 threads hereafter.

If anyone does that will be Compumind with his contacts at Macrium. As soon as he hears anything he's promised to let us know on the TF thread.

Good to know, It installed 8.1 on one of my machines but not the other two, when I questioned why the other two were not getting the upgrade I found it had been pulled. so I used Macrium to go back to the old version :lmao:
Hope you are doing ok, I am still permanently tired, this illness really took a toll, but on the mend

I got the v8.1 update on 1 out of my 4 machines before it got pulled. As it seems to work for me so I'm keeping it on that one.

If anyone does that will be Compumind....
Looks like it will be weeks rather than days before we see v8 re-released. TF member Compumind has just posted this:

Compumind said:
Just received an email!

"Version 8.1 is not ready yet and it will still be a week or so until the bugs are worked out.
If your customers purchase a paid license now they will still be eligible for a free upgrade to version 8.1."

Hope this helps!

More information from Paramount Software:

MR 8.0 Free will be officially supported with security updates until year end 2023.
MR 8.1 Will not be free - just a 30 day trial period.

The company asks that all users using 8.1 revert back to 8.0 if they are experiencing problems.
The revised 8.1 release will be sometime next week - keep your eyes peeled.

Very wise indeed , no tricks , bugs or other "experimental" adventures with such an important item backup/restore............
It can bring you in deep troubles !

I don't like getting warnings about new versions every time I open them so I usually update right away, Anything goes wrong and daily backup is there to fix.
BTW, today's automatic incremental backup is back to usual size, 1-2 GB. and finished in under 15 seconds.

I'm currently using:
Macrium Reflect Home - v8.0.7175 [UEFI]

I run 3 backup strategies simultaneously.
1. Microsoft OneDrive real-time mirror
2. Microsoft File History
3. Macrium Reflect daily complete images

All my data and photos are kept in my OneDrive folder.

Macrium Reflect images and File History are each kept on their own individual Samsung T7 2TB Portable SSDs.
